The Idea Guy

“I have a great Idea!”

I wish I could have a job being the idea guy… now that would be easy street for me. Just sit around and come up with ideas….Maybe, I should have gotten into creator/developer for a advertising agency, or that position like Josh Baskin had….That would be the end all/be all for me.

Unfortunately, for all the good ideas I have, I really am pitiful when it comes to implementation because I suddenly realize the gravity of the project, and I groan!

That being said, It seem we lack sometimes in outreach ministries in Anderson. Now don’t get me wrong, the existing ones do great in what do, such as AIM, Haven of Rest, to name a few, but It seems like we could could consolidate efforts to reach out to the community where there needs to be so much hearing and healing.

I hate to say things like this because my mind goes “Well, why don’t you do something?”, and I groan and the “bad implementation guy” kicks in. I see so many things that could be doing but can easily lack the energy to see it through.

I want to present an chance for some local college age and above, or whatever, to do outreach. Some would like the opportunity at existing ministries but others might enjoy something different. I would like this to be a Christian community effort as opposed to one church. (I really like the AIM concept).

I guess I could start out small and work at AIM, as I am trying to do personal outreach with existing ministries, because its easier than re-inventing the wheel. But my prayer is whether I need to try and bring something new here or not. Where to start and with whom. I am convinced more than ever that I need to be concentrating in the community and shining the light that way.

If the Lord does lead me in that direction , you can be sure that he provided me with better implementation skills than I had originally…..I’m just an “Idea Guy”….but I want it to be His Idea….his vision…his glory……through the work that he provided the energy for which I could never have come up with.
